**Job Overview**:
As a **Sewing Specialist**, you'll play a vital role in achieving production goals in the fabrics department. You'll utilize industrial sewing equipment and marine-grade materials, and you may also be cross trained in other areas, to support overall company goals. As part of long-term planning, you could play a critical role in the training and development of future Sewing Specialists. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for completing predetermined prioritized-orders, while communicating effectively to peers and management within the department. Job will require being exposed to the environment in a warehouse setting.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how your role will impact completion.
- Communicate to Management ideas to improve runtime
- Review your daily production goal, and report potential risks to the Manager
- Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excess
- Maintain flexibility for changing priorities
- Manage execution on orders and coordinate adjustments for completion
- Communicate production updates to Manager
- Safely identify and operator tools, supplies, and equipment
- Must be able to work well under pressure, in a fast
- paced environment
- Follow patterns to manufacture apparel and other pieces
- Ability to perform all aspects of process engineering for sewing and related equipment.
- Initiate and implement cost saving ideas.

- Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, and materials

- Strong Mechanical Skills
- Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
- Preferred, Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
