**JOB OVERVIEW**:
The Pathologists' Assistant is responsible for the preparation, gross description and dissection of surgical pathology specimens and the performance of postmortem examinations under the medical direction of the pathologist(s) while implementing the hospital and laboratory missions, goals and objectives.

**WORK SCHEDULE**
- Shift Type:Days; 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Hours/Day:8hr days Monday-Friday 40hrs scheduled, 30 hour guarantee
- Weekend Requirements:No weekends/No autopsies
- On Call Requirements:None

**Additional Requirements**:

- Independent judgement and initiative required to schedule, organize, and plan work.
- Responsible for care and accuracy in collection and labeling specimens.
- Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations including working additional hours or shifts.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods of time, and under stress.
- Knowledge of HIS and LIS, assorted laboratory instrumentation appropriate to scope of position and dependent upon current technology.

8hrs non-billable orientation
OT, Holiday and Call-Back multiplier: 1.25%
Call-back: 4/hour

**SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous Pathology Assistant experience current to 12 months - **Required**:

- MUST be competent in performing FROZEN SECTIONS, GROSSING BIOPSIES AND LARGE COMPLEX SPECIMENS
- Bachelor Degree **Required (Masters Preferred)**:

- NY PA License - **Required**

- BLS (AHA)

**STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS**

- NY license must be in hand at profile upload. Facility will not pend license

Pay: $64.84 - $70.16 per hour
