Yard Horse

**Job Duties**:

- Moves trailers in a safe and accurate manner.
- Operates various tractor-trailer combinations within the yard and between company holdings.
- Washes trailers and prepares them for use.
- Updates inventory/yard check sheets with tractor-trailer numbers and maintains appropriate communication with management and staff members.
- Verifies daily preventative maintenance of tractors, daily vehicle inspection reports, and schedules.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
- Must work safely and insure all safety requirements are met.
- Performs safety inspections of the yard horse and trailer according to DOT regulation
- **Job Requirements**:

- 1-year experience as a Switcher or 2 years tractor trailer experience required.
- Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirement.
- Safe driving record; No DUI, DWI, or impaired driving in the last 7 years, No more than 3 points on driving record at the time of hire.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

**Required Skills**:

- Good communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced transportation environment.
- Ability to proficiently communicate both verbally and in written form.

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Home daily
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- yard horse: 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Horicon, WI (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Horicon, WI: Relocate before starting work (required)
