**Position Description**

The Payroll Supervisor oversees training, development and supervision of payroll processes and staff ensuring that all are compliant with federal, state, and local guidelines and reports to the Associate Director of Finance and Operations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Directs the payroll processes, ensuring that the time and attendance data have been accurately entered into payroll system. Responsible for timely payroll file transmission
- Approves and executes all payroll adjustments
- Prepares and maintains payroll procedural documentation-ensuring that updates are made as process, law, or other changes occur
- Prepares quarterly and annual reconciliation of 941s and W2s
- Coordinate all Payroll Department functions and supervise payroll staff to ensure proper performance of duties and functions assigned
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local tax agencies and other related agencies to resolve payroll disputes or other issues
- Manage the retention of required documentation such as payroll registers and reports as required by federal, state and local laws
- Research and resolve IRS and statutory tax and wage garnishment notices
- Exercises independent judgement and decision making for all aspects of Payroll
- Coordinate and assist with workers comp audits
- Assist management through the budget and forecast process as it relates to payroll and other compensation planning.
- Assist management with variance analysis for payroll and benefits expenses.
- Provides training on the payroll system to end users including new hires during orientation.
- Prepares payroll related communication to the District community as needed
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality pursuant to expectations
- Related duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
- 3 years payroll or related experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Business and Finance Director/or Superintendent may find appropriate

**PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and Board of Education payrolls.
- Five to eight years of related experience
- Familiarity with MUNIS/Tyler software
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Supervisory experience

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 based on level of experience
12-Month Employee
