This position oversees the statewide Electronic Health Record (EHR), case management and case investigation system (CMIS). This position is part of the Analytics and Information Management (AIM) team within the Regional and Local Health Operations (RLHO) Division. Our mission is to analyze and transform public health information into insights that empower RLHO stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and improve outcomes.

**Essential Job Functions**:
The CMIS Coordinator will be responsible for:

- Holding a statewide responsibility for on-going CMIS usage and maintenance.
- As Team Lead, trains, leads, assigns and/or prioritizes the work of others.
- Identifies areas in need of improvement in information technology and programmatic function.
- Provides consultative services and technical assistance to CMIS end users and other relevant stakeholders.
- Draft and present technical documentation, electronic reports, policies and procedures, and system recommendations/enhancements.

**Knowledge Skills Abilities**:

- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA and other privacy protection laws and regulations, and laboratory test interpretation.
- Knowledge of acquiring, organizing, and integrating data, statistical and data analysis, and quality metrics.
- Skill in effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Leadership skills including conflict resolution and team development.
- Ability to develop policies, procedures, manuals, training materials, and concise reports.

**Registration or Licensure Requirements**:
**Initial Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must clearly state on their State of Texas Application how they meet each of the required criteria listed below.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in public health or other related field.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public health, health science, health information management or healthcare related fields required. Other related fields may be considered. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- Three years of experience preparing business/technical documentation (e.g. procedures, business processes, project documentation, test plans, solution/decision recommendation documents, etc.)
Preferred Criteria:

- Professional experience with Electronic Health Record systems.
- Master's degree in public health, health science, health information management or other related field.
- Preference will be given to applicants with 5 years of experience in public health and 5 years of preparing business/technical documentation experience.

**Additional Information**:
Applicants who meet the initial screening criteria will be required to take a skills test prior to receiving an interview invitation. Only applicants who pass the skills test will be interviewed.
