This approach includes both crisis interventions, such as emergency shelter and family reunification services, as well as ongoing support to build family resiliency, including counseling, education, and parenting classes. In 2020 alone, Child Crisis Arizona served over 6,000 children and families through various programs and services.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- A minimum of 4 hours of scheduled time each month.
- Classroom and home visit observation and consultation with Teachers, Identified Children and Families, and Family Support Specialist.
- Supporting Teachers to improve classroom management and teacher practices that support children’s capacity to express and regulate emotions, form trusting relationships, explore, and learn all in the cultural context of family and community.
- Support Home Visitors/FSSs to meet children’s mental health and social and emotional needs within the context of home visits.
- Support Families to understand mental health, support their children’s social and emotional development and access mental health services
- Observation and gathering of information from teachers and parents to assist in the assessment and support of specific identified children
- Debrief with appropriate staff and/or parents to provide feedback, insight and suggestions.
- Provide quarterly mental health related articles in English and Spanish regarding infant/toddler mental health.
- Facilitate Mental Health Training Sessions annually for staff and families
- Participate in the agency’s Health Services Advisory Committee
- Provide referral to appropriate mental health services for identified EHS children and families
- Provide mental health resources information to staff and families as appropriate
- Establish and maintain a reporting system to document all completed observations including recommendations and follow-ups.
- Models Center’s expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**

**Required**:

- Must be able to obtain Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card immediately upon hire (if there are any uncertainties about whether an applicant may have to go through an appeal process: they are encouraged to complete that process before applying, as an invalid card will result in termination of employment)
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field, plus 1 year post degree clinical experience
- Licensed with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health
- Some experience working with families and children
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a 5-year clean driving record

**Preferred**:

- Experience working with young children infants & toddlers and families in a classroom setting
- Experience supporting families and providing referrals needed
- Experience providing staff feedback and trainings
- Knowledge of and understanding of Conscious Discipline
- Bilingual English/Spanish
