**The Position at a Glance**

If you’re an experienced Call Center Specialist who is committed to patient satisfaction and is seeking a friendly, patient-centric clinical setting, _we’re looking for you_ As our Call Center Specialist, you'll be responsible for scheduling appointments for patients, providing patients with information, and providing other important operational support services for assigned departments. **Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is $22.00 per hour plus an available incentive plan. An array of benefits with employer contributions are available to employees and their eligible dependents, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401k retirement plan with employer matching. We also offer paid time off that covers vacation, sick leave, and personal business. Voluntary

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, Affordable Care Act requirements, understanding of diagnosis related groups (DRGs), Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers is required.
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills (oral and written) is preferred.
- One (1) year of customer service experience in a healthcare/medical office environment is preferred.

**The Position - Full Responsibilities**
- Provides a high level of customer service in a manner consistent with California Head & Neck Specialists mission and goals.
- Responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates.
- Confirms insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for service.
- Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.
- Responsible for interacting with patients, payers, and providers to gather information necessary for accurate registration, scheduling, referral/authorization, point of service payment collection, document collection and arrival/check-in functions.
- Responds to customer billing and payment inquiries as needed.
- Effectively manages the patient check-in and check-out process from start to finish, which includes identification verification; updating or confirming demographic and insurance information for every patient; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed and witnessed at the time of each patient's visit; collecting patient payment responsibility; and accurately preparing end of day reporting or payment reconciliation as needed.
- Escalating billing inquiries as needed.
- Accurately scheduling patient appointments.
- Successful scheduling and confirming of appointments according to practice guidelines to include accurate documentation and routing of messages; entering appropriate insurance; and performing Key User duties with mínimal errors.
- May be responsible for initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
- Regularly displays a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and accurately identifying the need to involve leadership as appropriate in order to resolve concerns.
