**About us**

Limerick Mills Animal Hospital is a privately owned, three doctor, mixed (large and small) animal practice in Limerick, Maine. We are fast-paced, fun and supportive group of hard working veterinary staff. We are looking to add someone to our wonderful support staff that is eager to learn and ready to boogie around the clinic.

We are seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician or Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the veterinarians and ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care. An ideal applicant is eager to learn and is not afraid of working hard and getting a little dirty. We are looking for a motivated, team player that has good energy and patience

**Duties**:

- Assist the veterinarian with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Take thorough medical histories
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
- Maintain cleanliness around the hospital
- Prepare for and take x-rays
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Educate clients on pet care and answer their questions
- Aid in communication between veterinarians and clients

**Experience**:

- A degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic is preferred but not required
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
