Veterinary Technician/assistant

We are a small emergency hospital looking for Veterinary Technicians and assistants comfortable working evenings/overnight weekends and holidays.

Our hospital philosophy is to provide care to all types animals. With the crazy way this industry is right now we are sometimes seeing patients from far away. It is our mission to keep price from prohibiting care. We work to support the relationship that our customer has with their day time vet and offer an option for care outside of their vets normal hours.

3 year minimum is required to be considered for this position, licensing is preferred but not required at this time. Salary can be negotiated based on a license and experience level.

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:
~Restrain and comfort animals during their treatment or examination, monitor during/after surgery.

~Perform lab work, draw blood, collect tissue or urine samples. Perform radiographs.

~Provide emergency care to animals. Ability to triage emergencies coming in.

~Clean examining rooms, Treatment rooms, kennels, surgery suite, X-ray Room, Isolation room and clean and sterilize surgical instruments.

~Standing for long periods of time, Basic computer skills.

~Ability to use down-time efficiently, Skilled with multi-tasking.

~Administer/Calculate medications, fluids and treatments to patients.

~Obtain TPR's and histories, talk with owners, go over estimates etc.

~Lifting/Carrying animals up to 40lbs unassisted.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
