Job Title: Dance Instructor (Technique Emphasis) - So Cal Dance Academy

So Cal Dance Academy is currently seeking a passionate and experienced dance instructor with a strong emphasis on technique to join our team. As a dance instructor, you will have the opportunity to work with students of varying ages and levels, fostering their growth and confidence through the art of dance. Our academy offers a range of classes including recreational, competitive, and performance-based, providing a dynamic environment for both instructors and students.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions to students of different ages and levels, focusing on technique and artistic expression.

2. Choreograph and prepare dance pieces for students to showcase in our end-of-year productions and competitions ensuring a high standard of performance and artistic merit.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Qualifications and/or training in dance or performing arts, with a strong foundation in technique.
- Demonstrated passion for working with and inspiring young people, fostering their growth and confidence.
- Proven ability to choreograph and teach within your respective styles, with a keen understanding of technique and artistic expression.
- A comprehensive understanding of the dance and performing arts industry, with a commitment to staying current with trends and developments.
- Enthusiasm, patience, and self-discipline, with the ability to motivate and engage students of all ages and levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively plan and execute lessons and rehearsals.
- Resourcefulness and adaptability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This position is part-time and requires a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work setting:

- In-person
