Job Announcement - Laborer

The Village is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Laborer with the Larchmont Department of Public Works.

**Qualifications**:This position requires physical endurance, the willingness to perform manual tasks, ability to lift heavy weights, willingness to work under all weather conditions, good physical condition and the ability to operate vehicles & equipment. A valid New York State Driver’s License Class “D” is required and a NYS CDL Class “B” w/air brake endorsement is required to complete the probationary period. Experience in general construction, landscaping, masonry, plumbing, electrical or other building trades is preferred but not required.

**Duties may include**:Routine cleaning, maintenance and repair assignments to buildings, grounds, or equipment; Loads / unloads materials / equipment from trucks and sanitation vehicles; Receives and/or moves supplies, equipment & furniture; Digs and refills trenches for water lines; Rakes leaves and hauls away rubbish and garbage; Collects and dispose of litter and garbage; General landscaping work and ability to assist with street maintenance; Jet and flush sewers and clean manholes and catch basins; Perform snow removal duties; May perform other related tasks as needed by the Village.

**Salary & Benefits**:This entry level position has a starting annual salary in the range of $55,236 to $61,958 depending on qualifications. The comprehensive benefit package includes vacation, sick leave, health & dental insurance and membership in the New York State Retirement System (pension). Reporting hours are 7:00am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Larchmont Highway Department, 2015 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY 10538.
