Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Specialist to join our team. As a Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities for individuals in assisted living and memory care settings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about senior care and enjoys creating engaging programs to enhance the quality of life for older adults.

**Duties**:

- Develop and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents
- Conduct assessments to identify individual interests, abilities, and preferences
- Plan and coordinate group outings, events, and special celebrations
- Lead exercise classes, games, arts and crafts sessions, and other recreational activities
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to residents as needed
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of aging issues and the unique needs of older adults
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Experience in working with seniors in assisted living or memory care settings
- Proficiency in event planning and organizing recreational activities
- Understanding of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and their importance in senior care

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Recreation activities: 1 year (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Oyster Bay, NY 11771: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
