**Pay Range**: $23-$26/hr

**Classification**:Non-exempt/hourly

**Job Summary**:
This is a position with moderate experience in the telecommunications industry. Under close supervision, the Installer III performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing telecommunications equipment in the field. Usually handles routine, less complex products and/or problems, receiving direction from higher-level installers on more complex problems

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Executes the essential duties and responsibilities of an Installer II, plus
- Addition or removal of wiring and connections (on non-working equipment only and switchboard cable only)
- Lead verification/continuity testing
- May perform the duties of a Level IV Installer when directly supervised by properly qualified personnel
- Successfully interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Properly test and troubleshoot fiber/copper installations
- Discuss media selection and implications for implementation on the network
- Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards and best practices
- Interpret the job plan and scope of work, as well as perform retrofits and upgrades for existing infrastructure

**Travel/Shift Requirements**:

- Travel away from home for several weeks may be required on demand
- Shift work required on demand

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, and in confined spaces
- Ability to work with/around electrical wires and/or ESD products
- Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, squat, climb, lift, pull and push

**Skills and Abilities Required**:

- Requires a moderate amount of technical knowledge of current Network products with mínimal training performed and recorded on Safety, Business Code of Conduct, Quality assurance and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
- Formal “Basic Installation” training course is required (or equivalent on the job training).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
- Sound knowledge of the phases of the product installation

**Education and Experience Required**:

- Electronics training equivalent to 2.5 years of technical trade school or military school, 2.5 years of field service, or equivalent as determined by Installation Manager
- Proficiency in the system (Network Elements 1, 2, or 3) being worked on
- Successful completion of Level III Skill Level test

**Job Type**: Temporary

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- TP 76300: 2 years (required)
- Central office: 2 years (required)
- Installing Fiber: 2 years (preferred)
- Properly test and troubleshoot fiber/copper installations: 2 years (preferred)
- Juniper: 2 years (preferred)
- Ciena: 2 years (preferred)
- Cisco routers: 2 years (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

- Los Angeles, CA: Relocate before starting work (required)
