**Job Duties**

Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly-ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
Richard Bland College (RBC) of the College of William & Mary is recruiting a Custodian to provide ongoing care of facilities and to aid in providing a clean and safe learning and working environment. The incumbent will perform custodial work to ensure cleanliness of facilities and grounds; clean hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, and other facilities on a scheduled basis; strip and wax floors. This position will also assist staff in moving furniture and equipment; keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas neat and clean; identify and report items in buildings that needs repair/physical damage to the Facilities Manager.

The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, weekends, if needed, during events. Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of operating standard cleaning equipment and materials.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical requirements of this job include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move a wide variety of items from one place to another, including carts and supplies; utilize foresight, concentration and appropriate safety measures.
- Ability to use basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work and stand for long periods of time in performing job assignments, with occasional outdoor work as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and the general public utilizing a high level of interpersonal skills, and customer service principles.

**Additional Considerations**

High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in property management, housing and facilities is preferred.
