Outreach and Communications Specialist

The mission of Sheltered91 is to offer hope and healing to people who have suffered from commercial sexual exploitation by providing resources to begin a new life. Sheltered91 is a faith based, non-profit organization and is seeking applicants who have a personal relationship with Christ, who desire to make a difference in the world.   

Job Summary: 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
- Works with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage volunteer engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities: 
-  Work with the Executive and Fundraising Operations Directors to learn the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization. 
- Develop a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals. 
- Create professional monthly and quarterly newsletters containing relevant compelling information.
- Develop and expand the organization’s social media presence through consistent meaningful posts.
- Produce relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to donors and the public including appeals and campaigns. 
- Assist with the design and construction of the annual report.
- Manage CRM as necessary to assist the Fundraising Operations Manager. 
- Assist the Fundraising Operations Manager with fundraising events that effectively communicate the organization's purposes. 
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate/business sponsors and donors. 
- Assist with the scheduling of volunteer activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 
- Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles. 
- Extensive knowledge of social media marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
- Excellent interpersonal skills. 
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar. 

Reporting: 
- The Outreach and Communications Specialist reports to the Executive Director of Sheltered91.

Education and Experience: 
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, finance, or marketing is required. 
- Certificate or training in fundraising highly preferred.
- Five years of experience in fundraising for a nonprofit organization highly preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods sitting at a desk. 
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.  

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.12 - $20.62 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week

**Benefits**:

- Paid time off

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Writing skills: 1 year (preferred)
