**Medical Secretary - Surgical Specialists (Entry-Level)** **-** **-** **(**240A5**)**

**Description**

The medical secretary will provide a variety of clerical and receptionist support services to the off-campus Health Center settings. The primary focus of this position is to provide secretarial assistance in managing and maintaining office operations to include the computer systems (e.g. Registration & Scheduling, RIS, PACS, and Voice Recognition) while delivering quality services. These responsibilities can include patient scheduling and registration; greeting and processing patients; preparing medical records; and handling visitors, physicians and other health care professionals in the delivery of a customer friendly service.

**Qualifications**

**Education/Experience**:

- Successful completion of high school or has a high school equivalency diploma
- Previous clerical/office training and/or education with medical terminology preferred

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, students, and physicians.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of people.
- Ability to promote and work in a team setting.
- Possess strong skills in:

- Computers
- Problem solving
- Multi-tasking
- Prioritizing

**Salary Range**
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.00 to $23.59 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
