**FUNCTIONS & REQUIREMENTS**
**Essential Job Functions**:
- ** In charge of the plant in the chief's absence.**:
- **Regular attendance.**:
- **Must be able to meet essential job functions with or without accommodation.**
- _Responsible for payroll and any information related to it (approval of vacation, sick days, etc.)._
- _Engage in interviewing, hiring and disciplinary action in support of the needs of the maintenance department._
- _Responsible for purchase, installation, and maintenance of equipment._
- _Responsible for building maintenance and repair._
- _Responsible for strong preventative maintenance program._
- _Responsible for keeping abreast of environmental concerns: OSHA, reduction of utilities, garbage, etc._
- _Attending seminars and meetings to remain on top of new techniques and equipment and to communicate pertinent information to individuals._
- _Take “off hour” phone calls. Provide technical support for all plant related issues._
- _Be a working supervisor and perform functions listed in the duties of maintenance technicians._
- _Perform other various job duties, as necessary._
- _Maintain required key performance indicators. _
- _Ensure all work is assigned and recorded into the maintenance site._
- _Organize and follow through with all projects._
- _Be an active member of the plant safety committee._
- _Responsible to learn the Chief Engineer position for potential promotion._
- _Ensure all required technical training is completed._
- _Must complete required evaluations of technicians._
- _Must ensure compliance with HLAC and Hygienically Clean._
- _Must remain compliant with all safety related company policies and procedures._
- _Must use proper PPE in compliance with company policies._
**Secondary Job Functions**:
- _
Maintains a clean and orderly work area._
- _Record all required work in a timely manner: work orders, time sheets, and request forms._
- _Performs other various job duties as may be assigned._
- _Maintain an accurate parts inventory._
**Requirements**:
- _
Prior laundry maintenance experience is required._
- _3 years or more experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair._
- _Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills._
- _Prior experience with boiler maintenance._
- _Ability to supervise maintenance technicians._
- _Able to manage budget guidelines._
- _Effectively communicate with vendors, able to order parts with “just in time” needs to keep mínimal inventory._
- _Good communications skills at all levels._
- _High School, GED, or equivalent._
- _Must wear proper PPE and complete all required safety training._
