Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of the Deputy Administrator/EEO Office/Special Emphasis & Diversity Unit.

This position primary purpose is to serve as the manager for an assigned Special Emphasis Program.

Duties

**As a your typical work assignments may include**:
Directing all DEA Special Emphasis activities for assigned program.
Coordinating logístical arrangements for and preparation of all required reports for monitoring and advisory committees
established by court order.
Developing and monitoring action plans related to the implementation of these program requirements.
Addressing complex equal opportunity problems or issues that are new, highly controversial, or precedent setting
in nature.

U.S. Citizenship Required
You must be a current DEA employee on a permanent career or career conditional appointment.
Drug testing designated position
You may be required to serve a one year supervisory or non-supervisor probationary period.
DEA uses e-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
Current Federal employees cannot transfer unused Time Off Awards to DEA.

**Qualifications**:
OR

Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.

OR

**Combination of Education and Experience**: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
