For over 30 years, ShoMi has been serving the Stockton neighborhood from the beautiful Lincoln Center. We serve casual, family-friendly Japanese cuisine including sushi, teriyaki, ramen, donburi, etc. for lunch & dinner. Follow in the footsteps of many of the best local sushi chefs at one of Stockton's oldest & best known Japanese restaurants
- Work at the sushi bar - prep sushi ingredients & make menu items. Work with the kitchen and serving staff to fulfill orders quickly and provide a good customer experience.
- Maintain a clean working environment - sushi bar, fridges, tools, storage areas.
- Ensure high quality of the ingredients & adherance to the company’s guidelines on proper food presentation and garnishes for all sushi items served to customers.
- Handle and store foods properly and in accordance with public health safety, state and local laws and company guidelines.
- Communicate any inventory, equipment or facility maintenance issues to the manager on duty and head sushi chef ASAP.
- Greet and respond to customers courteously with information about foods.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous Sushi, Nigiri, Sashimi, and Fish handling experience is a plus.
- Leadership experience is required for higher-level starting position.
- Hard-working individual who seeks out tasks and necessary approvals - never stands around waiting to be given work.
- Able to work fast & accurately under pressure with mínimal instructions.
- Excellent teamwork & communication skill.
- Skilled with knife & hands in a professional kitchen setting.
- Appreciation of food safety and handling standards.
- Attention to detail & food quality.
- Able to learn and improve quickly.
- Able to lift upto 40 lbs comfortably.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
