**Director of Youth Ministry**

Due West Methodist Church is an independent Methodist Church in the West Cobb area looking for a youth director to strengthen and guide our youth and their families in following Christ. The position, being full-time, operates on a flexible schedule, adapting to the varying demands of the church's activities and the evolving needs of the program. The youth currently meet on Sunday mornings for Sunday School and later in the evening for youth group (Ignite), which includes gathering, fellowship, worship, and games. The program is open and welcoming to newcomers, and there is never a dull moment. The program consists of youth from grades six through twelve, and many of the teens go to different schools. The group can be described as supportive, close-knit, and very playful, making the experience of working with them a pleasure. As well, Due West Youth Ministries frequently takes group trips that help the youth to grow in fellowship among themselves and with the Lord.

The mission of Due West Methodist Church is “Inviting our community to join us as we Gather Together, Grow in Jesus Christ, and Go Serve.”

The Director of Youth Ministry plays a pivotal role in fulfilling this mission by leveraging their spiritual gifts to support and minister to the youth of our church and community. Additionally, they will collaborate with other church staff to empower and equip the congregation to fulfill their membership covenant. The Director of Youth Ministry serves as the champion of teenagers, advocate for families, and supporter of the schools and students in the community. This is achieved through intentional worship experiences, including but not limited to Sunday school, Sunday night IGNITE youth gatherings, student-led worship, various fellowship, and mission-focused trips, facilitating small groups, leading confirmation, building relationships with families, and more.

**Responsibilities And Expectations**:

- Strong faith in Jesus Christ.
- A strong foundation in the core values of Due West Methodist Church.
- Act as a leader within Due West Methodist Church by actively participating in services, promoting other ministries, and serving where needed.
- Lead and organize age-appropriate spiritual growth opportunities, such as Sunday school, Sunday night IGNITE gatherings, confirmation, small groups, retreats, and events.
- Empower and utilize others in their spiritual gifts.
- Guide students through various levels of spiritual growth, from those who are new to learning about Jesus to those deeply rooted in their faith.
- Manage the youth budget and plan youth calendar and events.
- Lead and manage the Pumpkin Patch, a yearly fundraiser for the youth department selling pumpkins to the community.
- Connect and communicate with parents, families, and local schools.
- Recruit, equip, train, and lead adult volunteers.
- Promote youth ministries and outreach through various methods including social media.
- Use social media in a way that enhances youth spiritual growth.
- Assist with Vacation Bible School (VBS) by leading the six-grade class.
- Managerial duties for ministry staff include part-time Assistant Youth Director and part-time Administrator.
- Be a responsible steward of youth church property and supplies.

**Other Requirements**:

- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Intentional presence on social media, both personally and professionally.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Must be a faithful member/constituent of Due West Methodist Church.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in youth ministry.
- Completion of continuing education hours.
- Well-versed in Wesleyan Theology.

**Time**:

- Full Time, not traditional working hours
- Flexible schedule with the majority of days being Sunday-Thursday.

**Supervision**:

- Reports to the Senior Minister.
