Lead Qc Inspector

Established Aerospace company hiring a Lead Quality Control Inspector

Skills and Qualifications:

- Expert in GD&T and MIL-Spec Drawings
- Knowledge of AS9100, Internal Audits, AS9102
- Expert at Dimensional Checking of Aerospace CNC Machined Parts using micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, pitch micrometers, depth micrometers, ring gage, etc
- Ability to communicate effectively verbal and written, meet with customers, vendors, and management
- Experience with Lean and Process Improvement, 5S, Six Sigma, Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis
- Experience with CNC machining and assembly processes
- Familiarity with Aerospace “special process” such as heat treatment, chemical processing, plating, anodizing, etc
- Competence in researching and interpreting Aerospace process specifications and standards
- Familiarity with ERP Computer Systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure

Responsibilities and Duties:

- First Article Inspections, In-Process Inspections, SPC Recording, and Final Inspection on Aerospace Machined Parts according to print
- Develops quality planning documentation in support of New Product Introduction (NPI), liaison alongside QC Manager in support of NPI programs.
- Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying improvements relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Manges First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) as per AS9102 and customer requirements.
- Investigates Internal and External Customer issues using structured problem-solving tool such as 8D’s and or Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations to improve Quality.
- Lead and Supervise QC Team of 2 QC Inspectors under direction of QC Manager.

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years as QC Inspector in Aerospace Industry
- Bachelor of Science in relevant Engineering Field is a plus
