About You and this Role

Dow has several exciting opportunities for Process Technicians at Oyster Creek, TX LHC-8 has Process Technician openings and are looking for highly capable and motivated individuals to join their teams. LHC-8 is a world-scale ethylene manufacturing facilities located in located in Oyster Creek, Texas. The primary purpose of this role is the safe and reliable operation of the production facility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
- Uses process knowledge and skills to create, modify and improve operating discipline procedures and practices to improve plant performance.
- Operates and field checks process equipment. Monitors process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
- Performs tasks assigned to operations per Master Task List (e.g. field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.).
- Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals.
- Uses process knowledge and skills to coach and train others on plant operations.
- Actively participates on plant teams, and in other plant improvement projects.
- Performs process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventive maintenance utilizing the appropriate work processes and disciplines.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED equivalent and meet one or more of the following:

- A minimum of an Associate Degree in a relevant field OR 3+ years of relevant military training/experience OR High School Diploma/GED AND 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift days and nights with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Valid US driver’s license
- Must have good computer and technical skills to learn how to operate both manual and highly automated equipment.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills
- An Associate degree in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation and/or Electrical, or Computer Technology is preferred.
- Chemical manufacturing experience as a Production Technician.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnosing and repairing experience.
- Prior experience working in an outside environment.
- Proficiency in reading trends and graphs of real-time data.
- Understanding of computer code.

Additional Notes
- No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Physical Demands
- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
