**Position Introduction**

The **Liturgy and Music Coordinator **is for the planning, preparation and implementation of work related to liturgy and music and liturgical celebrations.

The **Liturgy and Music Coordinator **recruits, develops and rehearses liturgical choir, cantors, and instrumentalists for all liturgical celebrations, serve as the primary accompanist for Sunday evening 7 pm Mass, and provides weekly supervision, formation, education and ongoing musical development for music and liturgy interns.

The **Liturgy and Music Coordinator **will co-chair the student Liturgy Council, coordinate the planning and preparation of materials for special liturgies, retreat music, and regular liturgical celebrations on campus, and maintain and develops the liturgical music library with a focus on building a vibrant and diverse liturgical repertoire, and procure al l so und and instrume nt set ups for campus li turgies

The **Liturgy and Music Coordinator **will collaborate with other members of the College in providing musical and liturgical leadership for College liturgies and prayer, be available for major liturgical celebrations on campus including solemnities, Ash Wednesday, Mass of the Holy Spirit (August), Advent Lessons & Carols (December), Commencement Mass (May), and Reunion Weekend (June), provides pastoral leadership and pastoral care as needed, works Director and Assistant Director for Ministry and Spiritual Formation for strategic planning, special events and other initiatives, and contributes to the collective work of the Center for Faith, Action and Ministry in an effort to further the mission of Saint Mary’s as a Catholic and Holy Cross institution.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree in Liturgy and/or Music or other appropriate Theology or Music Degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with Roman Catholic Liturgy and other liturgical prayer practices within the tradition.
- Proficiency in piano, voice, and conducting.
- Three to five years of pastoral experience in a liturgy and music setting is preferred.
- Prefer proficiency in choir development, orchestration, Finale (or other music publishing) software.
