Medical Historian/scribe

**_Physician_**_’s Clinical Assistant/Medical Historian/Scribe:_**_Well established and busy private orthopedic, spine, and pain management practice has a **full-time opening** (Monday to Friday) for a Physicia_n’s Clinical Assistant/Medical Historian/Scribe._

**_Job Purpose:_**
- Assist physician in order to increase efficiency, report production, and flow of patients through the office. _

**_Job Duties may include, but are not limited to: _**
- _Rooming patients, distributing and collecting paperwork_
- _Fielding authorization and patient calls_
- _Obtaining outside medical records, including imaging_
- _Interview patients and obtain medical history, job description, history of injury and treatment, present complaints, and social history._
- _Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enter patient data._
- _Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician._
- _Electronically fax completed office visit note to various parties including insurance companies and attorneys. _
- _Edit medical reports, create proof of services, and otherwise assisting with the processing of outgoing reports_
- _Assist with other front and back office tasks _

**_Skills and qualifications:_**
- Applicant must have exceptional written and verbal skills and be proficient in typing and have excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills. The applicant must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great attention to detail. The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, professional, and have a willingness to learn. _
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus as is experience with medical terminology. _
