The Special Inspector will be qualified and experienced in performing the following inspection types:

- Fire-resistance rated construction
- Fire-resistant penetrations & joints
- Heating systems
- Mastic & intumescent fire-resistant coatings
- Mechanical systems
- Post-installed anchors
- Preliminary progress inspection
- Public assembly emergency lighting
- Smoke control systems
- Sprayed fire-resistant materials
- Standpipe systems and sprinkler systems
**Key skills and attributes**:
- Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective and responsive communicator
- Ability to provide inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with applicable NYC Special Inspections requirements and procedures.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with tablet-based inspections.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- ICC M2 Commercial Mechanical Inspector
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (not required)
- Minimum of 3 years of inspection experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
