**Regular Work Schedule**:Monday - Friday, 12:30PM - 7:00PM. Includes 30-min lunch break.

**Job Summary**
The Lead Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the school facility, and monitors the work assignments of custodial staff. Light maintenance will also be performed as needed. Reports to the Operations Director.

**Essential Functions**

The Lead Custodian keeps the school buildings in a state of operational excellence so that interruptions to the educational program are minimized.
- Lead responsibilities include:_
- Monitors other custodial staff to ensure assigned tasks are performed adequately.
- Checks in with the Operations Director and Office Manager on a daily basis.
- Coordinates backup schedules when custodial staff members are absent.
- Keeps inventory of cleaning & maintenance supplies, and notifies Office Manager of items needing to be ordered.
- Perform visual inspection of playground as assigned. Checklist will be provided.
- Monitor vendors when they are on-site to perform maintenance work.
- Provides training to other custodial staff as necessary.
- Maintain effective working relationships with school staff.
- Daily Custodian responsibilities include:_
- Sweep & mop VCT floors.
- Vacuum carpet floors.
- Disinfect tables.
- Clean bathrooms and restock supplies.
- Dispose trash from cafeteria, classrooms, and school offices.
- Follow OSHA precautions for “Emergency” clean ups including vomit, blood, stool.
- Seasonal Custodial responsibilities include:_
- Use carpet cleaner machine in classrooms.
- Use floor cleaner machine on VCT in high traffic areas.
- Other assignments may be given as necessary.
- Cleaning grimy surfaces.
- Light Maintenance responsibilities include:_
- Moving or assembly of furniture.
- Replacing HVAC filters.
- Replacing lamps.
- Replacing ceiling tiles.
- Patching and painting walls.
- Replacing basic fixtures in need of repair.

Additional worktime may be occasionally required for scheduled school events including setup, teardown, and cleaning.

Additional custodial-related tasks may be assigned by School Administration staff.

**Education/Experience**
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 years of custodial experience.

**Job Requirements**
- Physical Requirements - Must be able to: carry weight, lift, move, transport, position, put, install, remove up to 50 pounds across school campus; Move around for 90% of scheduled work time; Operate tools required for cleaning and maintenance of facility; Position self to crouch, stoop, or kneel to perform necessary job functions; Work in outdoor weather conditions for occasional periods of time; Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to perform maintenance services as needed.

Pay: $21.74 per hour
