**_ DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_**
Performs para-professional police and various support activities to assist in crime prevention.**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Utilizes departmental computer system to check in and out equipment to police officers, i.e., keys, ticket books, non-lethal weapons, etc.
- Maintains logs and records of equipment checked in and out of the radio room.
- Completes inventory of the radio room daily.
- Utilizes personal computer and mainframe to input, maintain, and retrieve information, i.e., roll call rosters, statistical data, offense reports, etc.
- Assists Police Officers in writing of reports on an as needed basis.
- Inventory and assign equipment in the Radio Room.
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- All duties and responsibilities may not be included in the above job descriptions.

**_ WORKING CONDITIONS_**
This position occasionally requires stooping or bending. During shift change lifting required when checking in/out equipment approximately 40-50 pounds or an equivalent weight.
- There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
- **“Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearance where required.”**

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
**_EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS_**
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a High School Diploma or a GED.

**_EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS_**
No experience is required.

**_LICENSE REQUIREMENTS_**
None.
