**About us**

The Next Step Academy has been changing lives through therapeutic education since 2005. We are a 501C3 non-profit organization and specialize in working with individuals who have Autism and other developmental delays. We are currently hiring for part time and full time positions

We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to join our team You will provide direct patient care and support therapeutic activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate teaching new skills and working on treatment objectives of patients with developmental delays
- Read, understand and follow the patient treatment plan and implementation strategies
- Deliver services in 1:1, 2:1 and small group settings
- Collect data based on performance of patient during sessions and write treatment progress notes
- Convey treatment results and patient progress to relevant parties
- Work in partnership with the treatment team to monitor and assess patient treatment programs
- Organize and update patient records
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment

**Qualifications**:

- Must be CPR certified
- Must be RBT certified. We have a second post for those who do not yet have their RBT, check it out
- Previous experience working with special needs children in school, clinic or other related setting is preferred.
- Ability to build rapport with patients and teammates.
- Passion to help and motivate others, especially children with special needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership skills, ability to take initiative and work in co-creative authority with other professionals.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to move about with patients, often times transitioning between work on floor, at table, while standing, on playground equipment, on therapeutic exercise equipment. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of our physical management training certification (see Therapeutic Crisis Intervention)

We currently have openings in the following positions:
**RBT I **- Any RBT with less that 1 year of experience. RBT will learn and run therapy sessions for six months without added responsibilities. Reviewed every 6 months, eligible for promotion following 1+ years (cumulative) RBT experience.

**RBT II** - 1+ years of experience. RBT will be responsible for assisting in training new members onto client teams with fidelity. Reviews every 6 months, eligible for promotion based on 1.5+ years RBT experience, performance and team discussion.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
