Arizona Girlchoir is a growing, community, and family-oriented organization comprised of four student ensembles and one adult ensemble. Our season typically runs from August through May. Information about Arizona Girlchoir including our mission, history, programs, and curriculum can be found at.

We will be interviewing for an Aria Ensemble Director position located at Desert Christian Fellowship, 1445 W Northern Ave., Phoenix 85021. Under supervision of the Artistic Director, this position will work primarily with Aria ensemble with singers ranging in age from 12-18. This is an opportunity to build the ensemble from the ground up The Aria Director will assist with preparation of the major concerts during our season, as well as other singing opportunities that arise, and any necessary administration. This position also includes music literacy instruction.

Part-Time Contractor position involving:

- Conducting Aria, our advanced junior high/high school ensemble
- Two (2) hours of weekly rehearsal time (Thursday nights), including music literacy
- Four to six (4-6) Saturday rehearsals (dates still to be determined)
- Weekend Camp in Prescott for 3 days in late August
- Two (2) formal concerts (December and May) and some ensemble community performances
- Two (2) parent showcases in October and March
- Monthly artistic staff meetings
- Auditions during specified times of the year
- Opportunities for participation in recruitment day camps and other recruitment events
- Assisting with planning summer tour
- Attending summer tour as the primary director (separate compensation)
- A degree in music education or choral conducting
- Experience teaching choir/singing
- Engaging teaching/rehearsal skills that will inspire singers
- Ability to demonstrate and teach healthy, age-appropriate vocal technique
- Strong knowledge of music literacy and related pedagogy
- Ability to interact positively with children, parents, and the public
- Ability to thrive both independently and as a member of a team
- Kodály training and/or certification
- Familiarity with Solfege

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $3,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 2 - 5 per week
