- Working as a collaborative team member to meet the service goals of the pharmacy
- Create a welcoming environment by greeting all customers and providing quick and efficient service
- Greet/wait on/service/answer question etc. for the store’s customers
- Receive prescriptions/gather and process patient information
- Computer processing/adding patients, doctors, drugs, etc
- Filling Rxs/processing/counting/labeling, etc
- Answering the phone
- Call Doctor’s office for refills when needed
- Calling Doctor’s office for patient/Rx information -clarification, etc
- Take phone in prescriptions from Doctor’s office
- Call insurance company when needed
- Reviewing and correcting prescriptions listed on the Negative Paid Report
- Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy database to assist with proper billing
- Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by adhering to health code guidelines and corporate standards.
- Knowledge of dispensing and data entry functions.
- Corrections to insurance rejections, reverse and rebill claims as necessary.
- Understanding of insurance companies, billing practices, eligibility checks, secondary pay sources, prior authorizations, Durable Medical Equipment Billing.
- Complete routine state and federal reports
- Have a good understanding of QS1 and ability to complete system updates
