**Who We Are**:
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is looking for a motivated data scientist to join our team supporting our customer in the development of technological-enabled system advancements.

From harvesting data & schema design to data migration and analytical support; we are looking for talent that learns rapidly & holds the ability to define and enhance processes.

**What You Will Do**:

- Identify valuable data sources and automate mining/collection processes.
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
- Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
- Design custom tools to optimize data mining, cleaning, validation and analysis tasks.
- Develop tools and testing models to ensure data accuracy.
- Create and present reports that detail your findings, recommendations and solutions.
- Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data.
- Develop tools to automate data collection.

**What We're Looking For**:

- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Experience with business intelligence and data analytical tools
- Proficient technical writing and public speaking skills
- Familiarity with statistical and data mining techniques and when it is appropriate to use them
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Continually seeks education by pursuing and maintaining certifications and keeping current with technology and industry trends
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Analyzing software requirements

**Preferred Requirements**
- Certifications or experience in project management or software development
- Experience supporting digital transformation of workflows and business processes.
- Ability to work in an agile environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving ability.
- Strong focus with the ability to retain information.
- The ability to work well with others, while fostering a team approach for solution development.
- Experience in a prior technical position (developer, technical support, quality assurance) is a plus.
- Self starter with an above average understanding of mechanical integrity data management systems.
