Injection Molding Technician

**Responsibilities**:

- Follow prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
- Perform mold changes, install molds on machine according to work order specifications
- Maintain efficient storage of molds and fixtures
- Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines
- Perform insert changes to molds
- Responsible for molding machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process
- Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results
- Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times
- Address unacceptable production reject levels
- Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling
- Responsible for the continuous operation of production equipment
- Repair/replace various components, switches, sensors,
- Repair/replace piping of cooling tower and chilled water lines as needed
- Modify existing procedures to improve efficiency
- Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes
- Maintain documentation and maintenance records for all equipment.
- Maintain required inventory of spare parts for machinery, systems, and assess parts needs and initiate the replacement of parts as required
- Work with outside contractors when on site
- Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience as a setup technician in the field of plastic injection molding.
- Basic electrical and hydraulics skills
- Intermediate knowledge of injection molding processing
- Mold construction and maintenance
- Materials knowledge (plastics, metals, etc.)
- Knowledge of Scientific molding methods is a plus
- Must be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner

**Working Conditions**:

- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders and/or work from platforms
