**SCHEDULED WORK HOURS**: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Exempt Position
**IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**: Controller
**CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH**:Controller, Finance Director, accounting team, residential services staff.
Special Qualifications: Computer familiarity, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word, and the flexibility to learn and work with other computer programs.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- Implementation and adherence to agency policies and procedures and pertinent state and federal government regulations.
- Prioritize, manage and complete job responsibilities as outlined in this job description.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency affairs, agency staff and agency participants.
- Ability to work as a team member in solving accounting problems and software issues.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of accounting reporting requirements relating to non-profit operation within the State of Connecticut.
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Residential Funding Specialist is responsible for assuring that Abilis receives all proper government funding from sources such as DSS, DDS, and SSA/SSI. General responsibilities include the tracking of all DSS and SSA/SSI monthly checks, all monthly government reporting (redeterminations, rep payee reports, W-265’s, etc.) and issuing personal funds. Additional responsibilities include, assistance with annual audit, and assistance to Controller and Director of Finance on special projects/needs.
**A. **KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**: Monitor all DSS, SSA/SSI Funding and Complete Monthly Reports.
Specific Duties:
- Maintain spreadsheet to track all client wages, DSS, SSA and SSI income on a monthly basis.
- Investigate missing checks by contacting agency workers.
- Resolve payment errors with DSS and Social Security
- Complete and distribute all DSS redeterminations in a timely manner.
- Assist Directors with completion of SS Continuing Disability reviews, Redeterminations, and Disability Update reports.
- Complete Representative Payee reports filed with Social Security and all other Social Security reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure that clients are invoiced the proper amounts for medical supplies, according to DDS rules
- Report all changes in client status to DSS workers, W-265’s, etc.
- Maintain comprehensive client files including all documentation relating to client funding.
- Follow up on **Medicaid and Medicare benefit issues with caseworkers**
- Complete monthly Personal Fund reports for personal fund checks. Insure that clients are receiving proper amounts.
- Review and submit DDS and EDS Attendance Reports on a monthly basis and input attendance data on 4510 worksheet.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure that clients’ personal funds are distributed in a timely manner.
**B. **KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:Oversee Residential Home Audit Program
Specific Duties:
- Conduct audits with assistance of other accounting staff
- Prepare Home Audit Reports
- Conduct Residential Program Manager and Assistant Manager reinforcement training on maintaining residential financial records.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university,
with a social work and/or business management.
Experience: Three to five years of Social Work / bookkeeping/accounting experience.
Special Qualifications: Computer familiarity, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word, and the flexibility to learn and work with other computer programs.
