**Mental Health Skill Builder Counselor** delivers time-limited training and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illness. The core objective of this position is to enhance community stability by imparting independent living skills, facilitating connections with community resources, aiding in medication management, and overseeing physical health and nutritional aspects. The provision of these services occurs within the individual's home and their local community.

.**Responsibilities and Duties**:
**Teaching Independent Living Skills**:Provide guidance on housekeeping and organizational skills.

**Financial Assistance**:Help with budgeting and financial management for economic stability.

**Personal Hygiene Education**:Offer education and support to maintain good personal hygiene and grooming practices.

**Nutrition and Meal Support**:Accompany individuals to the grocery store, teach nutritious food choices, and assist with meal planning.

**Stress Management**:Support individuals in identifying and implementing stress management techniques.

**Medication Guidance**:Provide instruction on proper medication administration and adherence.

**Health and Nutrition Monitoring**:Regularly assess and monitor physical health and nutritional needs, making appropriate recommendations.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- **Education**:Background in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- **Interpersonal Skills**:Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- **Empathy**:Ability to build rapport with individuals facing mental health challenges.
- **Knowledge**:Understanding of developmental disabilities and mental health issues.
- **Independence**:Ability to work independently in the individual's home and community setting.
- **Adaptability**:Patience and adaptability to address the unique needs of each individual.
- **Transportation**:Reliable transportation for home and community visits.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
