**Job Summary**:The Coordinator of Creative Arts plays a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities through artistic expression and community engagement. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and promoting a diverse range of artistic activities, fostering skill development, and facilitating opportunities for showcasing the artwork created by program participants. Additionally, the Coordinator of Creative Arts will extend art services to Esperanza’s school in order to provide art projects and activities that will expand the quality of their education and enhance the overall aesthetic enrichment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Curriculum Development**: Develop and implement a comprehensive creative arts curriculum tailored to the unique needs and abilities of adults with intellectual disabilities, fostering self-expression and skill development.

**Artistic Skill Enhancement**: Work closely with program participants to nurture their artistic talents, providing guidance, support, and encouragement to help them become better artists.

**Artwork Curation**: Curate and prepare artwork created by program participants for exhibition and sale, both within the organization and at external community events.

**Community Engagement**: Establish and maintain partnerships with local community members, providers, and organizations to promote the program, participate in community events, and create opportunities for program participants to showcase their art.

**Expansion into School Program**: Extend creative art services to the adjacent school for children with intellectual disabilities, developing age-appropriate art projects to enrich the students' learning experiences.

**Aesthetic Enhancement**: Contribute to the agency's overall aesthetics by decorating for events, arranging art displays within the building, and collaborating on the creation of murals and other visual enhancements.

**Resource Management**: Manage art supplies, budgets, and other resources necessary for the successful operation of the creative arts program.

**Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain records of participants' progress, completed artwork, and program outcomes, and provide regular reports to the Program Director.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or in a similar setting.
- Strong artistic skills and a demonstrated ability to teach and guide others in artistic pursuits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with program participants and community partners.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to adapt art activities to individual needs and interests.
- Knowledge of art therapy principles and practices is a plus.
- A passion for promoting the arts as a means of self-expression and empowerment.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position primarily operates within the main building and may involve occasional off-site activities.
- Flexible working hours may be required on occasion to accommodate evening or weekend events.
- The Coordinator of Creative Arts will work closely with individuals with intellectual disabilities, so patience and understanding are essential qualities.
