**ABOUT THIS POSITION**:
The Phoenix Fire Department is committed to providing the highest level of public safety services to our community. Join our team as a Fire Protection Equipment Service Worker You will maintain, repair, and rebuild firefighting support equipment. The equipment maintained includes: Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), protective clothing and uniforms, hose couplings, hose valves, nozzles, two-cycle and four-cycle engines, rescue saws, small electric motors, pumps and generators, hand ladders, and small electronic devices. This position also assists in maintaining needed supplies and equipment supporting training.

**IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Knowledge of ADOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with driving within Phoenix city limits.

**SALARY**:
Pay Range: $21.54 to $31.82 per hour.

Hiring Range: $21.54 to $28.86 per hour.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Two years of skilled experience in the repair and maintenance of breathing air equipment, hand ladders, small engines, protective clothing, and motors
- or completion of the City of Phoenix Fire Equipment Service Worker Trainee Program
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
Experience with/in:

- Troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding items such as a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), oxygen regulator, Laerdal suction unit, and CPR machine.
- Interpreting schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids to pinpoint problems with life safety equipment.
- In operating a pickup truck, box truck, van, or vehicles larger than small passenger vehicles.
- With maintaining a strict schedule and associated organizational/documentation abilities.
- Performing basic routine checks for a vehicle (such as tires, fluid leaks, warning signs).
- Providing customer service in a high traffic and fast paced setting.
