Wilmette, United States Chalet Full time

Description:
We have an opportunity for a Visual Merchandising Assistant to join the team that’s responsible for the aesthetic ambiance of our lifestyle retail store. As the Visual Merchandising Assistant, you will help the Visual Team in creating exciting, experiential, inspiring and shop-able experiences for our customer, all the while driving sales and maximizing profitability.

Responsibilities include:

- Assist in the execution of seasonal, weekly, and at times pop-up/flash merchandising plans as approved by the Visual Manager.
- Physical assembly of both outdoor and indoor displays.
- Support our silent selling initiatives which provide customers with opportunities to shop compelling and informative displays.
- Set up displays and visuals for store and all-company events, helping to set the tone.
- Assist in pricing and stocking of merchandise.
- A few times per month, our Visual team updates displays at our satellite location in Lake Forest.
- Keep displays dusted, clean and organized.
- Along with all of our retail associates, providing customer service and sales assistance as needed when our seasonal business swells.

**Requirements**:

- Retail experience where you had responsibility for placement and re-stocking of merchandise.
- This is a physical and hands-on position, therefore the ability to stand for 8+ hours, lift/move 40+ pound items, and be agile on ladders are all very important traits.
- This position will be primarily outdoors from early Spring until early Winter, so being comfortable working in all weather conditions is crucial.
- A creative person who has a finger on the pulse of current home décor, horticulture, pet and/or outdoor living trends (decorating or design classes would be a plus).
- Skilled and able to treat both customers and co-workers with excellent customer service and be a self-driven person who takes responsibility and also knows when to ask for help.
- An interest in plants is a plus.

We have multiple schedule types available.
- The full-time year-round position has a consistent weekly schedule of four weekdays and Saturdays. Flexibility to work a sixth day as the needs of the season dictate would be a huge plus, as would the ability to begin your work day prior to store opening. Benefits include a choice of medical plans; dental, vision, FSA, life and disability insurances; retirement plan; holidays; paid time off and product discounts.
- The part-time seasonal position would require availability for at least 2 weekday shifts and Saturdays. Benefits include product discounts and accumulated sick pay.
