**Recovery Support Specialist**

**Arukah Institute of Healing, Inc.**
- **Education**:_

High School Diploma or equivalent.
- **Certifications**:_

Certified or actively pursuing certification as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) (desired).
- **Experience**:_

Prior experience as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for individuals functioning within the pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization and recovery maintenance stages is preferred.

Prior exposure with lived experience in mental health/substance use issues.
- **Responsibilities**:_

The Recovery Support Specialist will perform a wide variety of tasks to assist peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.

The Recovery Support Specialist will assist individuals in articulating goals for recovery through the use of one-on-one meetings and will support individuals in identifying and creating goals with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them in achieving those goals.

The Recovery Support Specialist will assist individual’s in setting up and sustaining self-help functions as well means of locating and joining mutual support systems.

The Recovery Support Systems will utilize and teach problem solving techniques with individuals; utilize discussions where individuals will share common problems in daily living and methods they have employed to manage and cope with these problems. As much as possible, the Recovery Support Specialist will share their own experiences and what skills, strengths, supports and resources they use and will share their own recovery story as well as demonstrate how they have directed their own recovery.

The Recovery Support Specialist will be trained in harm-reduction techniques including understanding what harm reduction is and why and how to appropriately implement harm reduction.

The Recovery Support Specialist will demonstrate accountability for all hours of service provided to individuals as well as hours worked at Arukah Institute of Healing, Inc. through supervision, provision of agency time sheets and other documentation as required.

The Recovery Support Specialist will work under the supervision of the Recovery Support Specialist Program Director.

Serve in collaboration with a team of clinicians that collectively cover 24/7/365 crisis mental health and substance use call, both off-site and on-site.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
