Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Advancement, the Director of Alumni Affairs will provide key leadership on the Cardozo Institutional Advancement (IA) team. The Director will have supervisory responsibility for two positions, the Associate Director of Alumni Affairs and the Development Associate of Foundations and Grants. They will spearhead a range of projects encompassing corporate giving and serving as the main IA liaison to the Office of Communications to ensure that the law school has a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy and events program. The Director will also have an interest and emphasis on building diversity, equity and inclusion within the Cardozo community.

Position Responsibilities:
Alumni Affairs
- Create, manage and produce comprehensive and innovative programs that offer value to Cardozo's 15,000+ diverse alumni population who have a wide array of personal and professional interests
- Supervise the Associate Director of Alumni Affairs and manage a portfolio of alumni to promote alumni engagement and philanthropy
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to formulate a strategic plan, set annual goals, and determine policies and procedures that will lead to greater alumni participation, innovative programming and stronger ties with our alumni
- Partner with colleagues across the law school to create an integrated model in which alumni engagement is meaningfully and intentionally embedded in advancement activities
- Track program budgets and determine financial needs to run programs effectively

Corporate Giving & Foundations and Grants
- Create strategy to propel corporate giving to the law school for event sponsorship and capital campaign opportunities
- Supervise the Development Associate of Foundations and Grants to create and increase philanthropic support from foundations and grants

Communications
- Develop and implement a marketing and outreach strategy focused external (alumni, friends/partners, parents, corporations and foundations) contacts to expand the reach of alumni organizations and their impact on the law school's Institutional Advancement objectives
- Serve as the main liaison to the Office of Communications

Experience & Educational Background:

- Bachelor's Degree required; masters or graduate certificate preferred
- 5-7 years related experience
- Must include experience with community-building and engagement, planning and implementing live and virtual special events and activities, and communications and outreach including social media in a collaborative environment, as well as volunteer management and staff supervision
- Demonstrated ability to lead by promoting professionalism, mutual respect, creativity, entrepreneurship, appropriate risk-taking, and cross-organizational cooperation

Skills & Competencies:

- Fluent in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint) and comfortable willing to learn a new prospect management database
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to interact successfully both one-on-one and in large group settings
- Excellent judgement in determining the ability to make appropriate use of resources to further fundraising and alumni engagement goals
- Evening and travel required
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, remain organized and maintain close attention to detail

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $110,000
