**Description/Duties**:
**_This recruitment will be used to fill a vacancy at the Red Mountain Branch; however, this recruitment will also be used to establish an eligibility list to fill possible future Librarian II vacancies in other library branch locations. As a Programming Librarian of Red Mountain Library’s makerspace, THINKspot, this role focuses on fostering an environment of creativity, learning, and innovation. This position will instruct patrons in the use of 3D printers, sewing machines, laser cutters, paper/vinyl cutters, podcasting equipment, VR technologies, and Adobe creative suite software._**

In the absence of a supervisor, a Librarian II may be left in charge of Library facilities (example: evening or weekend hours) to deal with maintaining order. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and accepted library practices and procedures. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class performs related duties as required.

Supervision may be received from a Librarian III or Supervisory Librarian, who reviews work through conferences, meetings, reports, and results achieved. A Librarian II is distinguished from a Librarian I by the more specialized nature and advanced difficulty of work assignments, and the greater independence with which work is performed. Night and weekend work is required. This class is FLSA exempt-professional. (Part-time employees in this class are FLSA nonexempt).

**Minimum Qualifications Required.** Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Library Science, Library Science and Information Studies, or Information Studies from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university. Good (1 - 3 years) professional library experience.
