Clerk, Radiology

Admits incoming patients for Radiological services. Interview incoming patients/ representatives to obtain identifying information and other data required for services.

Job Responsibility
- Greets patients and/or visitors to the department in a courteous manner.
- Interviews patients/representatives to obtain all relevant demographic and insurance data, and necessary signatures.
- Assigns each patient an on-line account number.
- Collaborates with Medical Records to identify if patient has previously received services at hospital.
- Places telephone calls to nursing units, advising time of scheduled exams.
- Enters all information into computer system, verifying accuracy.
- Provides patients with interpretation of hospital's policies and regulations.
- Escorts or arranges escort to appropriate room.
- Ensures completed chart accompanies patient to nursing units upon completion.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Previous computer/data entry experience, preferred.
- Typing 30 wpm, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
