**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for maintaining records of inventory and the locations of individual products in the wholesale distribution center. The incumbent will be responsible for managing costs through various methods, including staffing levels, productivity, proper utilization of storage space, and proper asset protection of all stored materials.

**As the Inventory Control Supervisor, you will**:

- Perform cycle counting, run daily exception reports and analyze output and findings on actionable items.
- Direct daily investigations into various inventory issues, variances, and discrepancies; make approved adjustments within automated tracking system.
- Maintain accurate inventory totals utilizing various reports and processes to determine the root-cause of any recognized inaccuracies.
- Plan, conduct, and lead quarterly full inventory audit during non-peak hours.
- Evaluate product location in warehouse distribution center based on velocity, seasonality, and sales; update item locations based on analysis.
- Coordinate with Purchasing department and Warehouse distribution center on new product listings, last call and delisted items to meet optimal warehouse spacing.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Wholesale Inventory Control department and staff, including scheduling and documentation.
- Develop, evaluate, implement and improve inventory processes and procedures for Inventory Control department.
- Develops recommendations and assessments of alternative programmatic courses of action, as well as inventory control program goals, needs, and achievements.
- Utilizes data collection and analysis techniques to evaluate inventory control management programs; submits oral and written reports to management personnel for their consideration and decision-making.
- Monitors specific or selected aspects of contracts and makes recommendations on the acceptability of program services; serves as liaison between contractor and user agency by receiving complaints and resolving problems concerning contract performance or compliance with terms.
- Develops strategies for complaint resolution in complex issues, analyzes trends/patterns in program areas, and recommends modification in program practices.

**To be a successful Inventory Control Supervisor, you must have**:

- Knowledge of the inventory control program area(s) related to the department/agency to which the position is assigned.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of standard processes involved in procurement and/or contract management.
- Have excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
- Have effective oral and written communication skills.
- Have advanced skills working in Microsoft Office, experience in Oracle and other relational databases computer programs.
- Be resourceful and flexible in managing multiple, competing priorities in a complex and comprehensive business environment within a government structure.

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**:
This position MAY require work during non-traditional hours to include early mornings, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays; may require work that involves physical demands, occasionally working in warehouse and/or retail store environments; and the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside of the assigned facility.

To ensure a positive workplace and to comply with federal, state, and County laws, the incumbent is responsible for completing mandatory trainings within the first three to six months or within the specified timeframe.

The individual selected for this position will be considered an “Essential Employee.” Essential employees must report to work during a period of general emergency or liberal leave.
