**Job Overview**:
Henry Booth House is seeking a WIC Clerk to work for our WIC division. The WIC Clerk assists in clerical or administrative duties according to the state WIC program policies and procedures. Strong customer service skills required. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Maintenance of clinic schedule
- Pre-screen applicants to obtain basic demographic data such as name, address, contact information, resolving any potential dual enrollment on the precertification screen, if applicable.
- Scheduling appointments and follow-up on missed upcoming appointments.
- Verifying identity, residency, and income eligibility by reviewing proofs presented to confirm eligibility and documenting in the WIC MIS.
- Documenting in the WIC MIS those found ineligible and providing the ineligibility Notice & Rights to Fair Hearing.
- Providing notification and obtaining consent for other services per policy.
- Reviewing participant rights and responsibilities and documenting participant signature.
- Ensure that NVRA requirements are met per the IL WIC PM AD 13.
- Frontline staff will be trained to perform their duties using participant centered skills and while promoting and supporting breastfeeding.

**Qualifications**:
**PLEASE NOTE: Candaidates must be bilingual in English - Mandarin Chinese**
- Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, external public agencies, suppliers, program applicants and participants, and the general public.
- Using initiative, discretion and decision making within established procedures, guidelines and rules.
- Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Providing effective customer service.

**Education**:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND one year of experience in customer service; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

**Work Schedule**:

- Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm; every second and third Saturday 9am - 4pm

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
