$3,000 retention bonus included for full time new hires. Under the supervision of our Clinical Manager, our Lead Clinical Technician reports primarily out of our Lawrence practice and is responsible for assisting with all functions of the clinical department while also having a focus on satellite office management. This position also requires Bilingual Spanish and English speaking skills. The Lead Ophthalmic Technician serves as a liaison between the site staff and management while also supporting clinics working alongside fellow technicians. This may include but is not limited to practicing customer service excellence by “working up” patients in the clinic, coordinating patients' visits, maintaining equipment and supplies, and communicating the needs of the office to the appropriate manager. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, but may require flexibility depending on the needs of the department.

**Essential Functions**
- Responsible for creating the technician schedule for the Lawrence practice and making the appropriate adjustments as needed.
- Manages employee time cards and responds to time off requests through the timekeeping system, Paychex.
- Monitor the metrics of the Retention Bonus in regards to the technicians who are participating.
- Coordinates with clinical team members to identify supplies as needed and places supply orders in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with Human Resources with recruitment efforts, performance management or disciplinary actions.
- Provides the appropriate training to new and existing clinical team members.
- Takes ownership of the daily management of the clinic flow for the Lawrence practice.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Preferred Education and Experience**
- A minimum of a high school diploma, required
- A bachelor’s degree, preferred
- A minimum of 3 years related experience
- COA certification preferred and must receive their COA after 6 months of employment

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform various ophthalmic tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry
- Assist ophthalmologists in diagnostic procedures and surgeries
- Obtain patient medical history and document relevant information in medical records
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician
- Conduct preliminary tests for patients, including taking ocular measurements and performing visual field tests
- Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens use
- Assist with medical billing, coding, and record keeping
- Maintain inventory of ophthalmic supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained

**Skills**:

- Bi-lingual Spanish and English speaking skills required.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and equipment
- Proficiency in medical billing, coding, and record management systems
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Knowledge of pediatric eye care is a plus
- Experience in sales or retail math is beneficial
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system is preferred
