Grand Prairie, United States Analytical Food Laboratories Full time

**Overview of Position**:
Maintain accurate and efficient system for tracking and processing of samples into Analytical Food Laboratories from check-in at the facility through disposal utilizing Laboratory Information Management System and other procedures and protocols in adherence to the standards of ISO/IEC 17025, NELAC, and all other accrediting/certifying agencies.

**Education and Requirements**:
Experience in Sample Management Technician I Position for a minimum of 6 months.

**Responsibilities**:
Interface with clients, vendors and all laboratory departments to ensure that all samples are properly received, labeled, documented, tracked, and routed through the laboratory in a timely manner in accordance with ISO 17025 standards.

Aid in transporting of samples/supplies between clients and AFL/AFL to clients.

Be familiar with all procedures, records, and documentation necessary.

Performance of basic lab duties.

**Job Duties**:
Receive and log in samples from couriers and various delivery agencies.

Review sample(s) and any attached documentation.

Enter information into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

When necessary, contact client and/or laboratory personnel to obtain/clarify missing or unclear information.

Delivery of samples to appropriate departments within AFL.

Store sample(s) in appropriate conditions and dispose after allotted time frame.

Assist Courier Lead with scheduling of client bookings into the courier routing software, as needed.

Assist lab personnel in retrieving of sample(s) for relative purposes, such as retesting requirements.

Assist clients with submittal of samples to laboratory.

Assist in preparation and analysis of samples, including grinding/blending and weighing samples according to the specifications of method.

Assist with the preparation of storage studies.

Perform routine cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting throughout laboratory.

Perform opening/closing of sample management department in accordance with Quality Management System.

Perform support duties to the Microbiology, Chemistry, and Vendor Compliance Departments, including but not limited to: supply stocking, sample preparation, plate/petrifilm preparation, paperwork management.

Delivery of supplies to clients from AFL.

Delivery of samples to AFL from clients.

Driving of company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.

Accurate documentation of driving activities.

Performing initial inspection of vehicle before starting on routes.

Loading and unloading of cargo.

Perform additional duties as required.
