**Job Summary**

Dispatchers coordinate all security officers’ activities from the Operations Department during their assigned shift. Dispatchers coordinate schedules, onsite inspections and related activities.

**Job Duties**:
Dispatchers constitute the communications link between field personnel and command center staff during a shift. Dispatchers schedule and dispatch security officers. Dispatchers have responsibility for all communications with security officers and in-office personnel. Dispatchers maintain contact with security officers while they are on duty via radio or telephone contact to ensure that operations run smoothly in the field. Dispatchers also monitor the location of all security personnel. Dispatchers are responsible for the dissemination of security officer schedules, logging security officers as they come on and off duty and finding replacements for absent security personnel to ensure that all posts are covered at all times.

Dispatchers receive all calls coming into the Operations Department. When handling calls, dispatchers carefully question each caller to determine the type, seriousness, and location of the any situation that may arise. They keep records, logs, and schedules of the calls they receive, the vehicles they monitor and control, and the actions they take. They maintain information on each call, and then prepare a detailed report on all activities occurring during their shift. Dispatchers input and log information into the dispatch system and client relationship database. All issues are communicated immediately to supervisory personnel, who will respond to any situation that occurs at a client property.

Dispatchers are also responsible for minor clerical duties including, copying and filing of security officer reports, patrol reports and Operations Department paperwork. Dispatchers must exercise good judgment and follow directives from supervisors. Dispatchers must be familiar with all accounts that have coverage during the shifts that they work. Dispatchers must exhibit resourcefulness in ensuring that all posts are covered and proactively solve potential issues so that no posts are uncovered during their shift.

**Reports to**:
Dispatchers report directly to Operations Supervisor working during their assigned shift and the Dispatch Manager.

**Location**:
Dispatchers work at the Citadel Security, Inc. corporate headquarters in Long Beach, CA, in the Operations Department.

**Shift**:
Dispatch operations run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shift assignments may vary.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Education: _Must have a high school diploma and an associates degree in a related field or at least 2 years of dispatching experience.
- Age: _Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Special Skills: _Must be familiar with MS Windows and basic computer operations.

Must have at least one year experience working in security or related field.
- Licenses: _None required.
- Physical: _No specific physical requirements.

- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

**Salary**: $18.00 to $20.00 /hour

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
