**Position Summary**:
The **School Psychologist **is responsible for providing services to support the academic, social, emotional and cognitive development of students. This position will perform evaluations, psychological assessments, crisis response, consultations, student observations and research. The school psychologist will create safe and healthy learning environments through collaboration with educators, administrators, families, students and other service providers. The position will also require traveling between schools and buildings.

This is a 12 month position that is supervised by the Director of Special Education

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Conduct psychoeducational initial evaluations for students referred through MTSS or through parent request
- Conduct reevaluations for students with disabilities
- Administer individual psychological and educational tests and assessments to identify exceptional students
- Participate in the development of the individual educational program by making placement, service and referral recommendations
- Follow-up on students’ placement, consult with multi-disciplinary team, provide training and support to team
- Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians during the evaluative process
- Identify and provide solutions for student needs to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students

**Additional responsibilities**:

- Observe, interview, and survey students, their teachers and other school personnel
- Research and identify behavioral or emotional patterns to contribute to a Functional Behavior Assessment
- Delivering training, information sessions, or professional development in areas of expertise for various members of the BCN community
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with students and families of all ages and backgrounds

- Ability to analyze data to inform decision making
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of public education and charter schools highly desirable but not required
- Demonstrated capacity to work with urban youth
- Belief in and alignment with Belmont Charter’s mission
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to transport self between and among school sites throughout the Network, as necessary.
- Basic computer literacy - word processing, data entry.
- Maintain records and prepare comprehensive reports, including State and Federal mandated reports
- ** Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:

- Certification in Pennsylvania as a School Psychologist
- At least one year of related work experience
- Experience with a diverse group of students, staff, and other professionals
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Understanding of behavioral intervention strategies
- Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to the delivery of psychological services to school age children
