**THE POSITION**:
**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
In this role, you will participate in a comprehensive 12-month training period during which time the you will be trained to perform the duties of an Air Quality Specialist. The main responsibilities of this position include assisting with conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and developing emission inventories within a designated geographical area to ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act. Responsibilities also involve assisting in overseeing facilities assigned by the Air Quality District Supervisor to address air pollution issues in accordance with the Bureau’s regulations. Additionally, tasks include collecting and inputting emission inventory data, planning inspection schedules, and providing background information to Engineering staff for new source approvals. Inspections of control equipment and air pollution sources are conducted to verify compliance with permit conditions and regulations.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- ** Telework**:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week, after 6 months in the position. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.
- ** Salary**:_ _**In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- Four years of technical experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field; **or**:

- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field; **or**:

- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

**Special Requirement**:

- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
