Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - 5+ years Painting experience working with materials, equipment, methods, and tools of the paint trade. (required)
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform all aspects of skilled paint work. (required)
- Working knowledge of surface toleration of wood, metal, plastic, etc., for paint, wood stain, varnish, and special coatings. (required)
- Skill in performing basic arithmetic calculations sufficient to calculate work areas and materials, and to estimate costs. (required)
- Ability to inspect, clean, lubricate, and/or adjust paint-related equipment. (required)
- Working knowledge of standard safety practices as they relate to the paint trade. (required)
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and diplomatically with staff, management, residents, guests, and outside vendors. (required)
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with mínimal supervision. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and/or directions. (required)
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions related to the paint trade. (required)
- Knowledge of University staff personnel policies and procedures. (preferred)
- Ability to maintain good attendance. Ability to arrive to work reliably and on time. (required)
- Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, managers and supervisors, customers/clients, and members of the public. Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively as a team player. (required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:
- Valid Lead-based paint removal certification. (required)
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
