**BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY**:
Directs the daily operation of the Lake Marion Community Center including programming, staffing and public relations; Implements and manages the community center private rental and community user group programs; Plans, coordinates and supervises a number of programs including summer camps, drop-in activities, and community events.

**PRIMARY DUTIES**:

- Coordinates scheduling and staffing of Community Centers for MVF programs and functions, private rentals, community groups use and HOA activities.
- Follows MVF policies including policies related to use of community centers and recommends policy revisions. Responsible for ensuring that administrative procedures related to use of community centers are followed.
- Plans, supervises, organizes and evaluates special events and programs including Indoor Flea Market, Concerts at the Lake Marion Community Center, Holiday Craft Bazar and Special Events at the pools.
- Assists with planning and implementation of other special events as requested.
- Directs the daily operation of the Lake Marion Community Center including programing, staffing and public relations.
- Coordinates and oversees diverse drop-in activities at the Lake Marion Community Center.
- Responsible for ensuring that administrative procedures including waivers are completed and funds are reconciled with Finance.
- Researches program trends, assesses community needs, plans, implements and evaluates a diverse portfolio of programs. Promotes diverse center participation of persons from various cultural, educational and economic backgrounds.
- Ensures compliance with Foundation policy, center rules and safety practices with staff, user groups and participants.
- Completes regular inspections and safety assessments, maintains a hazard and drug-free environment, documents issues to identify risk areas and recommends improvements.
- Directs Summer Camp at the Lake Marion Location. Develop and supervise summer camp and hire, supervise and evaluate temporary staff.
- Assist with the development of the staff training manual and in-service training for temporary staff.
- Assist with the development of year-round volunteer program and coordinate and implement the program.
- Interviews temporary staff and recommends for hire. Supervises and evaluates staff and makes recommendations on merit increases, promotions or terminations. Approves timesheets.
- Develops public relations materials such as press releases, posters, fliers, swinging signs, and center bulletin boards. Coordinates social media information with communications staff; Distributes materials as needed. Prepares information for quarterly recreation inserts.
- Communicates MVF policies and procedures to staff and residents. Responds to resident inquires and concerns following up as needed making appropriate notifications, preparing and submitting reports.
- Maintains all facility equipment and supplies ensuring that they are kept in a clean and organized manner. Inventories and orders approved supplies and equipment within budget guidelines. Solicits bids.
- Report’s maintenance problems with the facility or grounds to the Facilities Manager in a timely manner.
- Completes monthly reports, program plans, evaluations and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Oversees the implementation of grants as directed; preparing reports, tracking costs and requesting reimbursements as warranted.
- Assists with preparation of department budget and submits financial reports.
- This position includes working some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of recreation programming.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work with and communicate to diverse audiences and employees.
- Ability to work independently using sound judgement in the execution of the position’s duties.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and members of the public.
- Must be able to deal with children, parents/guardians, and other staff in a positive, courteous, tactful, and professional manner.
- Must possess ability to perform moderate physical activities such as frequent walking, running, conducting exercises, and related physical activities. Physical activities may require sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, crawling, carrying, pushing and grasping.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Thorough knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
- Working knowledge of budgetary process.
- Skills in leading workshops/training classes.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
